Sea World!

Last weekend was full of activity and tons of fun. Saturday morning we cleaned and started getting things ready for Brody's arrival. Washing all of Brody's new/Caden's old cloths, and it took us down memory lane (granted it was a short trip since Caden's only 2!). We are getting more and more excited about Brody's arrival. That afternoon our friends Rafael and Hilda came over. We all relaxed at the beach. Hilda is also pregnant (due in January), so we had lots to talk about. Caden had a great time with both of them. Sunday we headed off early in the morning to Sea World in Orlando.

This was Caden's second visit to Sea World. The first one was in June before his second birthday and it was a short one. Last time he liked it (especially the penguins), but he enjoyed playing in the mulch under the landscaping as much as looking at the animals. This time he really enjoyed looking at all of the animals, especially the under-water views. It was so cute seeing him next to all of the older kids with this hands and face plastered against the window laughing every time a dolphin swam by.

The climax of the day was the Shamu Express Roller Coaster. Caden insisted he wanted to "Go on that one", so we skeptically took him over to the "You must be this tall" measuring stick, thinking that would be the end of that. Well, even though Caden is probably only 36 inches tall, his shoes and wiry hair took him over the 38 inch height requirement, much to our chagrin. Before we could process the whole thing Caden and Darren were boarding the Shamu Express, and we were both about to hold our breath for one of the longest 90 seconds stretches ever. The safety bar came down and even though it did not reach Caden's lap, the visibly underpaid and undoubtedly certified safety bar attendant, verified the bar would not come up with a quick tug-tug, the chime sounded, and they were off. Darren said, "Hold on to Daddy's arm", and talked him through what appeared to be a very enjoyable experience, at least for Caden. After docking they walked down the ramp safely to Mommy. Whew. We asked him if he wanted to go on the Roller Coaster again, or if he wanted to wait until next time, he paused and thought about it for a second, and said, "Next Time". Thank Goodness!

I think they are both smiling?

The Roller Coaster was located in a kids area called "Shamu's Happy Harbor", and there were plenty of different apparatus for kids to play on, with or in. Caden went on some slides about 4 times as long as the ones at the playgrounds we go to so he had a blast with those and we decided to call it a day.

One Tried Mommy.

One Tired Tot.
